2019 Region 4 (Mid-Central Region) 42nd Annual Sai Retreat


Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Region 4 of the Mid Central Region of the Sathya Sai International Organization-USA is very blessed to have the opportunity to invite you and your family to our 42nd Annual Retreat, based on the life and teachings of Sathya Sai Baba. The Sathya Sai Organization-USA, is a non-denominational organization of over 200 Sathya Sai centers in all 50 states and coordinated by the Sathya Sai Council of America. It is part of the Sathya Sai International Organization (SSIO), which is based in 126 countries.  Members come from all faiths and share the purpose of reaching the ultimate goal of realization of innate divinity through the  practice of love, self-inquiry and selfless service.

To support this goal of realization of inherent divinity, this Spiritual Retreat will focus on and explore the theme of how to “Surrender to God Through the Path of Devotion”. Come to Eureka, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis to retreat in the foothills of the Ozarks at Kiwanis Camp Wyman.


Speaker:  Sri Narayan Sethuramon from India  -  

Son of the late Sri. V. Srinivasan, who was a member of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust and All India President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization India.

Son of the late Vidya Srinivasan, who was National Bal Vikas Coordinator of India. Of special interest to SSE teachers, parents and students, Narayan achieved a National Bal Vikas Rank in the Bal Vikas Program (SSE),  India.  The family had the blessed experience of Sri Sathya Sai Baba staying more than once at their home. Narayan has been blessed with several divine experiences, which we will ask him to share with us during the Retreat.  

Currently, Narayan is with Sanmar Engineering Technologies Limited – Steel Castings Division, Chennai, India,  with the motto,  "Where Integrity Meets Excellence". Sanmar is a company that embraces Green Initiatives.

Speaker: Dr. Hari Conjeevaram from Michigan -


Dr. Hari Conjeevaram is Regional Medical Director for Region 5, Vice-Chairman – USA Medical Committee and Medical Director Zone 1 (USA-Canada-West Indies), Sathya Sai International Organization (SSIO). He is also member of the International Medical Committee, USA and International Disaster Relief Committees, SSIO. As part of the SSIO, Dr. Conjeevaram has coordinated multiple local and international medical and educational missions in India, Kazakhstan and Russia and disaster relief missions in countries such as Sri Lanka, Haiti, Philippines and Ecuador. Additionally, he coordinates medical rotations for doctors across the globe to volunteer at Swami’s institutions. With Swami’s divine blessings and loving guidance, he was involved with the setting up of the Gastroenterology Department with the Endoscopy Unit at the Super Specialty Hospital in Puttaparthi, which celebrated its 10th year anniversary in 2018.

At the professional level, Dr. Hari Conjeevaram is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. In addition to patient care, he has also been actively involved in medical research and in education and mentoring physicians in different countries both in the US and globally including India and Ethiopia. He has won numerous awards for his education, teaching and for his community service activities, some of which include “University of Michigan Dean’s Award for Community Service”, “Shining Hero Award” for outstanding service, and the “Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award”. In 2017 he was inducted into the University of Michigan Clinical Excellence Society “Academiae Laureati Medici” and he was the recipient of the 2017 American Gastroenterological Association Distinguished “Lifetime Educator Award” that is presented to an individual for achievements as an outstanding educator over a lifelong career. Most recently, he has been selected to receive the 2019 American College of Physicians (ACP)-Michigan “Volunteerism & Community Service Award”.


Sai Spiritual Education Program Special Note -


This year’s retreat, offers a very special experiential program for Group 4 Sai Spiritual Education students. This program will be organized and facilitated by the Young Adult Regional Advisors.
